Elegant teacup handmade in Kyoto pottery studio Shunzangama. It ia run by a thrd generation pottery maker. The Shunzangama artists continue the tradition of Kenzan Ogata. He was one of the best Japanese painters and ceramic artists, lived in XVII / XVIII century in Kyoto vicinity. He was also a master of tea ceremony and most of his works were teawares. Kenzan Ogata's style was so special that was named kenzan-yaki. Shunzangama wares are kenzan-yaki works.
The teacup is beautifully handpainted in plum flowers. Its size makes it great for tea or coffe, but is also big enough to be used as mini matcha teabowl.
