Teacup set kenzan-yaki ume
Elegant teacup handmade in Kyoto pottery studio Shunzangama. It is run by a third generation pottery artist. The Shunzangama artists continue the tradition of Kenzan Ogata. He was one of the best Japanese painters and ceramic artists, lived in XVII / XVIII century in Kyoto vicinity. He was also a master of tea ceremony and most of his works were teawares. Kenzan Ogata's style was so special that was named kenzan-yaki. Shunzangama wares are kenzan-yaki works.
The teacups are beautifully handpainted in plum flowers pattern. Its size makes it great for tea or coffee.
