    Round vase kushiho brown and blue 16cm

    An original vase handcrafted in the Japanese town of Shigaraki. It has a round shape and an irregular upper rim. Dark brown matte glaze and traditional decoration - known as kushiho or kushigaki - grooves carved into the clay using a comb-like tool. This is a very traditional method of decorating ceramics, still used in some workshops in Shigaraki. A modern element - a comb pattern covered with gold and glossy blue glaze. A very interesting design.  The vase will be an original part of the decoration of a modern interior.

    NOTE: The vases are made of porous clay and are not glazed on the bottom. We recommend placing them on a coaster or napkin, as their bottom may be slightly rough and scratch smooth surfaces. The inside of the vessel is protected against water soaking through, so avoid washing the vase with detergents. In the event of large temperature changes, the vase may sweat slightly, so it is best to place it on a surface that can withstand delicate contact with moisture.
