Tatar-zukuri vase gray 19cm
An original vase handmade in a ceramic workshop in the Japanese town of Shigaraki. Handmade using the tatara-zukuri technique, which involves creating vessels from flat sheets of clay instead of throwing them on a potter's wheel. This method gives the vessel an irregular, sculptural, slightly angular form. The vase resembles an open bag made of thick fabric. Its subdued colors and raw character perfectly reflect the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic. A great idea for fans of unusual interior design elements.
NOTE: The vases are made of porous clay and are not glazed on the bottom. We recommend placing them on a coaster or napkin, as their bottom may be slightly rough and scratch smooth surfaces. The inside of the vessel is protected against water soaking through, so avoid washing the vase with detergents. In the event of large temperature changes, the vase may sweat slightly, so it is best to place it on a surface that can withstand delicate contact with moisture.
