Tenugui has many uses - it can be a cloth, a hand or face towel, or a headband (protecting against sweat during training or physical work). In the past, it was an indispensable attribute of craftsmen and warriors, and today tenugui still has a practical use, but not only that. It is also a cultural and decorative element - tenugui often have interesting designs, which is why they may be hanged on the wall like a picture, can be used as elegant gift wrapping or an original souvenir.
