Tenugui is a traditional Japanese cotton towel / cloth. It usually measures approximately 35 x 90 cm and is made of smooth, thin cotton with raw, unhemmed shorter edges. Tenugui has many uses - it can be a cloth, a hand or face towel, or a headband (protecting against sweat during training or physical work). In the past, it was an indispensable attribute of craftsmen and warriors, and today tenugui still has a practical use, but not only that. It is also a cultural and decorative element - tenugui often has interesting designs, which is why it is hung on the wall like a picture, and can be used as elegant gift wrapping or an original gift. Tenuguibon is a product that won the prestigious Japanese Good Design Award in 2007. It is a tenugui scarf delicately sewn and designed to form a book. Each page features a picture of a cat and a traditional Japanese pattern. When unfolded, it becomes a colourful towel / cloth / scarf / napkin.
