Fukamushi Sencha green tea Chirancha 95g

Fukamushi sencha tea is sencha tea with the leaves exposed to steam for a longer period of time. This gives the infusion an intense and rich color, flavor, and aroma. The leaves are broken down by longer steaming, which releases more aroma and flavor. The infusion is slightly cloudy, thick, and very “smooth.” The taste is distinctly sweet, with umami notes and mild vegetable accents. The texture of the infusion is silky, soft, and “ embracing.”

Chirancha is a tea from Chiran in Kagoshima Prefecture, at the southern tip of Japan. Chirancha is grown on fertile volcanic soils and is famous for its very high quality.

Fukamushi Sencha Chirancha is a blend of carefully selected leaves exclusively from the first spring harvest (April and May).

Cultivar - yutakamidori and saemidori, harvest time - spring 2025.

    Properties

Sencha contains caffeine, stimulates the body, making it a healthy alternative to morning coffee. Like other green teas, sencha helps boost metabolism, contains antioxidants, and supports heart disease and cancer prevention. Thanks to longer steaming, sencha fukamushi is mild and often drunk even by people with sensitive stomachs.

    Dishes

Sencha is usually prepared in Japan in small (approx. 300 ml) teapots called kyusu. These are teapots with a characteristic handle perpendicular to the spout. You will find them in many designs in our gallery. Sencha cups are also small, often gently flaring towards the top. In Japan, it is said that cups that are light in color inside allow you to enjoy the emerald color of the tea.
