An elegant porcelain teacup made of Japanese porcelain. Classic colours – white porcelain and blue decorations. Flowers inspired by traditional kimono decorations – tsujigahana. This method, which was popular in Japan in the 15th century, involves decorating fabrics with dyeing and decorative stitching in floral motifs. Tsujigahana flowers are often ‘three-dimensional’ thanks to embroidery or the texture of fabric dyed using the “shibori” technique. The pattern on this porcelain cup is also ‘convex’, resembling magnolia flowers painted with ink. Its interesting design and snow-white porcelain beautifully highlight the green colour of tea.
