An elegant teacup with a lid made of Japanese porcelain. Classic colours – white porcelain and blue decorations. Flowers inspired by traditional kimono decorations – tsujigahana. This method, which was popular in Japan in the 15th century, involves decorating fabrics with dyeing and decorative stitching in floral motifs. Tsujigahana flowers are often ‘three-dimensional’ thanks to embroidery or the texture of fabric dyed using the “shibori” technique. The pattern on this porcelain cup is also ‘convex’, resembling magnolia flowers painted with ink. A cup with a lid - in Japan, such cups are used during official meetings - tea is served in them to important guests whom we want to honour in a special way. However, we encourage you to use this cup in any creative way you like – thanks to its lid, the cup can be a practical container for storing sauces, sugar, honey or other delicacies. Its interesting design and snow-white porcelain beautifully highlight the green colour of tea.
