Kunisuke Nakahara pink teacup 220ml
An original teacup handcrafted in the studio of esteemed ceramic artist Kunisuke Nakahara. Made of raw, rough clay and covered with a matte glaze in powdery pink. Note the irregular shape and original glaze runs. The form of a small bowl makes this vessel not only an excellent teacup for green tea, but also a tiny bowl for desserts or snacks. It can also be a matcha teacup if you use a milk frother or a larger vessel to whisk tea.
Kunisuke Nakahara is a well-known ceramic artist from the town of Hagi. He has been creating ceramic vessels since 1975, but like any traditional artisan he believes that he is a lifelong learner and that learning is never a finished process. Mr. Nakahara mainly creates everyday objects and tea utensils occupy an important place in his work. Each vessel is a small work of art that is created according to traditional techniques used in Hagi since the 16th century.
