Teacup by Sho Keiichiro 350ml
Original tea cup handmade by Sho Keiichiro, an artist from Hagi town. Irregular, wavy shapes, relatively large size and impressive cuts in the clay. Characteristic of the Hagi region, the coarse brick-colored clay is covered with a glaze of unique colors. White blurred with delicate reflections of gray and blue, warm pastel finish at the bottom of the cup. A sophisticated work of contemporary Japanese art. It can be a cup for sencha green tea, but will also come in handy for preparing matcha tea.
Sho Keiichiro is a ceramic artist who lives and creates in the well-known center of Hagi town. He began to learn the ceramic craft when he was a high school student, and as he grew older he gained experience and skill in creating beautiful and unique vessels. Sho Keiichiro is particularly interested in tea ceramics, and creates in accordance with several centuries of tradition, from which, he says, comes the “warmth” of the vessels produced in Hagi. However, he adds an artistic touch to classic techniques, and his works are highly regarded by experts in ceramic art.
