Hirakyusu teapot mogake beige Gyokko 200ml
An original, handcrafted teapot from the renowned Gyokko pottery studio, owned by the Umehara family. Hirakyusu means “flat teapot” -this shape allows the tea leaves to expand properly and release their best aroma. Tea brewed in a flat teapot with a wide base has the deepest umami flavor possible. Warm, beige color with delicate decorations in the form of natural “veins.” This is the traditional mogake technique - applying seaweed to the vessel before firing - in the kiln, the seaweed melts into the clay, creating a one-of-a-kind pattern. A precisely crafted ceramic tea strainer. Japanese tea ceramics at their absolute best. A unique choice for connoisseurs of luxury teas. A beautiful, minimalist vessel for brewing high-quality tea. The artist’s signature is located below the handle.
