A set of two original ceramic teacups handmade and decorated at the Shunzangama studio in Kyoto. The Shunzangama studio is run by third-generation ceramic artist Mori Shunzan. He continues the tradition of one of Japan's most revered artists - Kenzan Ogata. This exceptionally talented painter and ceramist lived and worked in the Kyoto area in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. He was also a master of the tea ceremony, which is why his works are usually tea utensils - teacups, teapots, etc. Kenzan Ogata's particular style is often called kenzan-yaki and is recognised as a distinct style of ceramics within kyoyaki (kiyomizuyaki) ceramics (ceramics specific to the Kyoto region).

The cups are made of brick-red clay and covered with a cream matte glaze. The artist has artfully decorated them with drawings of cherry blossoms in pink, lilac, white and gold. Perfect for tea, coffee, mulled wine or other drinks. Packaged in an elegant box - they will be an original gift for a couple - for a wedding, an engagement, a new flat.
