An original vessel with a spout - katakuchi, handmade by Japanese ceramic artist Seigan Yamane. Dark brown clay and striking kairagi glazing (also known as onihagi) - a thick layer of dense milky-white glaze with irregular glimpses of clay. The vessel looks as if it has been covered with delicious icing :) Each time you use it, you will enjoy the pleasure of experiencing contemporary applied art. The artist's signature is inscribed on the bottom of each vessel.

The vessel can be used as a cup for preparing matcha tea or as a vessel for serving sake or tea. It can be used to cool water for tea, you can also serve sauces or dressings in it, or use it as an original snack bowl. In each role, it will attract attention with its out-of-the-ordinary beauty.

Seigan Yamane is a respected ceramic artist who lives and works in Hagi. Many years of experimentation and experience with traditional materials and techniques are reflected in the artist's unique vessels. His works are usually irregular in shape and made of fairly heavy, often porous clay with small pebbles. They embody the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi. The artist derives great joy from his daily work and wants to share it with everyone who uses his vessels :)

Due to its handmade nature, each bowl is slightly different from the others—the unique distribution of glaze on the vessel and subtle differences in shape and size are natural characteristics of items crafted by an artist's hand.
