    Roasted Kamairicha Tea Hinokage 100g

Kamairicha is a relatively rare Japanese tea, produced mainly in several prefectures on the island of Kyushu. ItIt differs from classic Japanese green teas in the way it is produced. Fresh leaves are roasted on cast iron woks, which stops the oxidation process, which in the case of other Japanese green teas means exposing the leaves to steam. Kamairicha tea has a very distinctive aroma and taste - it has roasted notes, sweetness, and hints of grain and nuts.

Roasted kamairicha is a tea which leaves are roasted over a high heat during the final stage of production, but it is not houjicha tea. It is a well-balanced blend of leaves from several cultivars from the first and second harvests. It is perfect as a refreshing morning tea or after meals - its clear, roasted flavor pairs well with the sweetness of rice or the intense flavors of fatty, high-calorie dishes. The leaves are delicately twisted, and the infusion has a golden, sunny color.

Harvest time - spring and summer 2025, blend of several cultivars.

The Kamairicha offered at Nagomi comes from a small family - run tea garden that has been in cultivation for several generations in the picturesque mountain village of Hinokage, in Miyazaki Prefecture. Mr. Kai grows tea without the use of chemical pesticides, using only natural, plant-based fertilizers made from fermented rice shells.

    Properties

Kamairicha contains caffeine, stimulates the body, making it a healthy alternative to morning coffee. Like other green teas, kamairicha helps boost metabolism, contains antioxidants, and supports heart disease and cancer prevention.

    Dishes

Kamairicha, like sencha, is usually prepared in Japan in small (approx. 300 ml) teapots called kyusu. These are teapots with a characteristic handle perpendicular to the spout. You will find them in many designs in our gallery. Sencha cups are also small, often gently flaring towards the top. In Japan, it is said that cups that are light in color inside allow you to enjoy the emerald color of the tea.
