An original vessel with a lid - known as a “mushiwan.” It can be used as a small sugar bowl, a container for honey or jam, or a small box for accessories such as jewelry. Made of light-colored clay, it is relatively thick and sturdy, glazed partly in matte brown and partly in a glossy green glaze with a shiny finish. The natural glaze flows and subdued color palette are the highlights of this beautiful vessel. Mushiwan is a serving dish for a delicacy called chawan mushi - a steamed egg custard with various ingredients. An elegant vessel with exceptional aesthetic qualities and many possible uses.
