Teacup and saucer pink shino ume 200ml
An elegant cup and saucer, handcrafted at the Meiwagama pottery studio in the town of Tajimi. Traditional technique and glazing with a pastel pink shino glaze. The thick layer of dense glaze requires a firing process lasting many hours, during which characteristic tiny holes and rust-coloured markings appear in the glaze. Underglaze designs of plum blossoms – ume. Note the irregular shape of the cup, the dynamic, ‘wavy’ edges and the spectacular clay cuts. A very impressive set for your favourite infusions. It also makes an original gift for a connoisseur of beautiful objects.
