Haiyu hakeme bowl 430ml

An original bowl, handcrafted at the Marui Seito pottery studio in Shigaraki, Japan. It features an impressive, dynamic elliptical shape with unevenly raised rims. Dark brown clay and  glaze in melange of brown, beige, and gray. Hakeme decoration – bold brushstrokes along the inner rim of the bowl. A beautiful setting for any dish.

Hechimon refers to unconventional items made by craftsmen in Shigaraki - it is a registered trademark of the Marui Seito studio. Just as nature creates diverse forms and each of us has a unique individuality, so “hechimon” dishes are characterized by diversity and each of them is one of a kind. Potters believe that, more than industrial products, they are thought to resemble agricultural products created by nature. Craftsmen produce clay vessels with dedication and creativity, respecting their uniqueness and giving them exceptional forms.
